League Two is the fourth tier of English football and the entry point to the Football League pyramid, sitting below League One and, two rungs further up, the Championship. It is also one of the most unpredictable divisions in the country, with fine margins separating promotion hopefuls from clubs fighting to keep their EFL status. The 2026/27 campaign kicked off on 15 August 2026 and runs through to the final round of fixtures on 8 May 2027, before the play-offs settle who joins the top three in League One. ScoresLive brings you every League Two match as it happens, along with the latest table, fixtures, results and odds from trusted UK bookmakers.
Twenty-four clubs contest League Two across a 46-game league season, with every side playing every rival home and away. The top three finishers earn automatic promotion to League One, while the sides who finish fourth to seventh go into the play-offs: two-legged semi-finals followed by a winner-takes-all final at Wembley Stadium for the fourth and final promotion spot. At the other end of the table, the bottom two clubs are relegated to the National League, with promotion running the other way for that division's champions and play-off winner. For 2026/27 that means York City, crowned National League champions, and Rochdale, who won the National League play-off final, have returned to League Two, while Harrogate Town and Barrow dropped down after finishing in the relegation places.
