The Crucible of Neutral Grounds
The Copa Argentina has entered its most volatile phase. The unique format - neutral venues and single-elimination matches - has once again favored the high-intensity pressing of the lower-league sides. "In the Cup, we don't play against a name; we play against eleven men," said a triumphant striker from a Primera B side.
Tactically, the elite clubs are struggling to break down ultra-compact 5-4-1 blocks. The reliance on individual magic from the likes of River Plate or Boca Juniors is often nullified by the sheer physical commitment of the underdogs, who view these matches as their career-defining moments.
