Modernity in the North

The 2026 Eliteserien season has begun with a masterclass in positional play from the defending champions. Bodø/Glimt's commitment to their 4-3-3 philosophy remains the benchmark for Scandinavian football. "We don't look at the table yet; we look at the patterns of our play," said Kjetil Knutsen.

The early tactical trend has been the 'inverted winger' role, with several teams mimicking the Glimt model to create central overloads against traditional 4-4-2 defensive blocks that have long dominated the region.
