Every NBA prediction on this page is built from live bookmaker odds converted to win probabilities. The overround is stripped before any calculation, giving you a cleaner read of what the market expects from each game. No draw market exists in basketball, so the probability bar splits entirely between the two sides. The team showing a higher percentage is the market favourite, but favourites lose regularly across an 82-game NBA season and even more so in a best-of-seven playoff series.
Each prediction card includes a score projection showing the expected total points for each team, a three-point projection, win probability and the best available odds from UK-licensed bookmakers. Written game previews cover team analysis, recent form, head-to-head history and tactical breakdown. The Best Pick on each card marks the outcome with the highest market-implied probability after the margin is removed.
NBA games tip off between roughly 00:00 and 04:00 UK time depending on the fixture. Predictions publish on the day of each game and update as odds move in the hours before tip-off. Playoff predictions are added as each series progresses, with game previews covering momentum shifts, series context and matchup adjustments made by coaching staff between games.
Win probability is derived directly from the moneyline odds available at UK bookmakers. We take the implied probability from each side, remove the bookmaker margin so both sides sum to 100%, and display the result as a percentage. A team at 65% does not win 65 of every 100 games in practice. The percentage reflects what the collective betting market believes, weighted by the money placed. Markets are informed by injury news, travel schedules, rest days, matchup history and current form, but they also react to public betting patterns and can move significantly in the hours before tip-off.
The score projection shown on each NBA prediction card is a statistical estimate of the total points each team is likely to score based on offensive and defensive efficiency ratings and pace of play. Efficiency ratings account for how many points a team scores or concedes per 100 possessions, stripping out the effect of pace. A team with a high offensive rating that plays at a slow pace may project fewer points per game than their raw average suggests. The three-point projection reflects the expected volume and make rate from distance given each team's tendency to attack or defend the perimeter.
Offensive Rating measures points scored per 100 possessions. Defensive Rating measures points conceded per 100 possessions - a lower defensive rating is better. Pace measures the number of possessions per game, which has a direct effect on total scoring. Effective Field Goal Percentage adjusts shooting accuracy to give extra weight to three-pointers. These metrics appear in the Data Stats section of each NBA prediction article on ScoresLive.
NBA games tip off between midnight and 4am UK time. Early games on the East Coast start around 00:30 or 01:00 UK. West Coast games start between 02:00 and 04:00 UK. During British Summer Time (late March to late October), all tip-off times shift one hour later relative to US Eastern Time. Prediction cards on this page show the UK tip-off time automatically.
The NBA playoffs run from April through June. Each series is best of seven, meaning form from earlier rounds, travel fatigue and coaching adjustments between games carry more weight than in the regular season. Playoff predictions on ScoresLive include series context, head-to-head records and a tactical breakdown covering how each coaching staff is likely to respond. Home-court advantage in the playoffs typically sits between 55% and 65% at the market level.
